Ellie Gerken is a queer cartoonist, illustrator, printmaker, potter, and self-publisher from western Washington State currently living and working in Chicago. They are a passionate member of the Chicago indie comics scene and 1/3 of the lesbian publishing trio SLOP.

In their comics, they love exploring complex interpersonal relationships whether they be romantic, familial, platonic, or something in between. They have a desire to be unapologetically authentic and vulnerable in their work and are trying to apologize less for that.

Ellie received their BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2024 and is currently looking for work in commercial illustration, book illustration, publishing, and teaching.
